Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between cross docking and distribution excellency in supply chain. The basic purpose of this research was to analyze the impact of the cross docking on the distribution excellency of a supply chain for which I chose Unilever Pakistan. The variables studied were lead time, material handling, warehousing cost and transportation cost. In the research study the sample size was based on 100 respondents and these respondents were the employees of Unilever. Since, cross docking is a strategic decision; we included only the upper management in our sample size. This included directors, senior managers, managers and assistant managers. For the collection of primary data, the source used in this research was questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of 18 questions. The results were significant and showed positive relationship between effective implication of cross docking and distribution in a given supply chain.
