Abstract

Only apes and corvids are known to be mirror competent, But there may exist further groups of eligible species - likely including pair-bonding cephalopods in case such exist. All mirror-competent bonding species are susceptible to the “personogenetic function change” if two of them are coupled in a cross-caring fashion. While this symmetric coupling occurs spontaneously only in the human ape, it can be arranged for artificially in other species. While the present prediction has been made before by the author’s group, no test has ever been attempted.
