Abstract

Nanotechnology has emerged as a promising field in pharmaceutical research for the development of advanced drug delivery systems. Nanoscale materials, such as nanoparticles, liposomes, and nanofibers, offer unique properties that can be utilized to overcome various challenges associated with conventional drug delivery approaches. In this book chapter, we will discuss recent advances in nanotechnology for drug delivery, spanning from bench to bedside. We will review the principles of nanotechnology, including nanoscale fabrication techniques, characterization methods, and safety considerations. We will also highlight the applications of nanotechnology in drug delivery, including improved drug solubility and bioavailability, targeted drug delivery, and controlled drug release. Furthermore, we will discuss the current challenges and future prospects of nanotechnology in drug delivery, including regulatory considerations, clinical translation, and commercialization. This book chapter aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the recent advancements in nanotechnology for drug delivery, and its potential to revolutionize the field of pharmaceuticals.
